Club Energy, Otley
Nestled in the heart of the picturesque town of Otley, Yorkshire. Club Energy is a small independent gym with some big ideas. With a strong community feel and a loyal member base this well-established fitness club has since moved around the corner to a larger facility.
The vision was to create a gym for the people of Otley that understood its client base but also reached out to the new by creating specific zones that allowed users to stay engaged and inspired to try and incorporate modern training/teaching methods. Prior to the move, the club had been at its old location since 1997, so the move coincides with 20 years trading at their old premises.
Director Pat Cowdell said ‘Since January we have marketed our move with success. Our membership base has steadily grown over the first part of the year in our old premises and the first 2 weeks into our new spot our member base continues to grow at a good rate. We currently have just shy of 1000 members with targets in place to further grow our business’.
‘Our club felt a little dated in our old location’ Director Joanne Cowdell continued ‘This move came at a time when the club needed an uplift and needed to freshen up to attract new members and evolve with fitness trends. Our member base historically has been very loyal as our club has a strong community feel, almost a family feel, we are working hard to continue and maintain that feel at the same time as bringing the facilities up to date.’
The new club boasts 11,000 square feet of useable space for bootcamps and an outdoor boxing station added to the initial 10,000 square foot blueprint. With New class timetables with over 60 classes a week split between live instructor led and Virtual content courtesy of My Zone, Outdoor Bootcamps, a 16 to 18year old Apprenticeship Scheme in partnership with Lifetime Training. Application for an approved Training Provider with Active IQ, who run the fitness qualifications from this center.
‘We looked around for a long time but chose to work with Fitness Systems because of the array of equipment’ Explains Director Gary Beaumont ‘They have many years’ experience and history in the supplying of high street chain fitness clubs as well as smaller independent gyms with full fit-outs. They offered lots of flexibility to trade in old equipment, brand our equipment and vast array of stock at very competitive rates.
‘They (Fitness Systems) listened to our needs and their understanding of the pitfalls and industry requirements needed by a small independent to be successful. We look forward to repeat business through many years to come and Install team were exceptional with going the extra mile.’
