There is a lot in the press today on brain training. Sudoku, Crosswords, puzzles even walking and aerobics. All these can help but don’t really help to forge new pathways that lead to brain development.
The brain is not unlike a muscle when it comes to increasing size, quality and definition. The muscles of the body require a concentrated effort, specific exercise, consistency and above all a programme that challenges our mind and body.
Training the brain and achieving results is on different for the brain and achieving results are no different for the brain than it is for the biceps, triceps, quads or any other individual muscle.
The brain like the body diminishes with age, without training the muscle wastes away. The brain also loses quality and size. Fighting the ageing process both in body and mind requires that we keep doing exercise and keep working the muscles and the mind progressively and that means it has to be constantly challenged.
